Format it to FAT16: mkdosfs -F 16 mytestfile.out.
Unzip and rename it to 900.ROM (or xxx.ROM for other Eee PC models, where 'xxx' is your model's name) Create a future flash drive image: dd if/dev/zero ofmytestfile.out bs1 count0 seek10M. I hard poweroff and i'm still in 0802 BIOS (luckily) just have to fix some settings and i'm back to normal. Here's a step-by-step solution for Linux: Download latest BIOS update here. and it just hangs on "Reading file 900.ROM" it'll sit there for as long as i have the patience. Rebooting with usb stick inserted, hit A+F2. i did however, update the wiki with my findings be that as it may, i tried it both ways with the same result below. well, i googled and found out it's XXX.ROM where XXX is your model number. the wiki originally said to name the file 701.ROM and thas was a bit confusing b/c it didn't say if that was because it was a model 701 or that it just needed to be named that no matter what. ROM file as 900.ROM on a fat32 formatted USB stick. Using our wiki i downloaded 900-ASUS-0906.zip from here. I want to upgrade my BIOS on my EEE PC 900. This is related to my post over here but i think it deserves it's own thread and it'll get more attention with a more specific title.
